Meet the Daughters of Charity

"Reflect often that it is not enough to have good intentions because, when we received the commandments to love God with all our heart, we also received a second commandment which is to love our neighbor."

- St. Louise de Marillac

There are over 19,000 Daughters of Charity living and working in over 90 countries. The Daughters dedicate their lives to caring for those who are forgotten, marginalized and deprived all over the world. They are involved in social work and humanitarian activities. They work for social justice, peace and solidarity. As society's needs change and evolve, the Daughters continually change and adapt their ministries to meet those needs. The countries they are in may be different but the basic needs of people don't differ all that much. Woman are abused, children are neglected, people are homeless, the elderly need care, people need access to education and healthcare, prisoners need support; the needs are endless. In all their ministries, the Daughters of Charity find the face of Christ in the people they serve. They spend their lives loving their neighbors!
